With all the DIY Halloween projects that have been going on, I wanted to join in on the fun! I combined a love for one of my favorite T.V. shows, Dexter (if you’re not familiar–the main character of this show is a blood spatter analyst), with another love of mine, hot cocoa! Enter, blood spatter mini marshmallows.
These are incredibly easy to make and are a really cool touch to add to any Halloween party you may be hosting.
Here’s the how-to: It’s Yum: Blood Spatter Mini Marshmallows
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- mini marshmallows
- red food coloring
- large bowl
- paint brush (preferably one with longer, fanned out bristles)
- lid or small dish
Place a handful of marshmallows into your bowl. Pour a small amount of food coloring into your lid or dish. Wet paintbrush.
Fling brush at marshmallows.
That’s literally it. Fling until you’re satisfied with the visual results.
Use to top your favorite hot cocoa recipe with.
Ah, yes, hot cocoa Dexter Morgan style. Elegant, yet creepy.
